Work: Replacement of nine original 1953 Steelcase steel windows on the Cosnahan House; installer had removed and destroyed them without a CA or permit and installed Don Young aluminum one-over-one windows Type: windows Staff rec: Tabled case returned; staff recommended replacing the five street-visible front windows with Marvin fiberglass-clad wood windows as the best alternative to $33,878 steel replacements Discussion: The applicant apologized, saying the removal was 'miscommunicated' with his installer, and asked to keep the Don Young windows for budget reasons. City Attorney Boyle laid out three options and explained the permit is the 'stop gap measure'; Chairman Shope said the Commission's 'charge is to protect what was there' and 'this is why the Commission needed to see the windows before they were destroyed.' Commissioner Voelker 'noted another variance' before moving approval.
