Dr. Curtis Ratliff — Commissioner (2025–present)

Appointed July 2025 — but far from new to Grapevine preservation: longtime chairman of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation, and owner of the Ratliff House at 220 Blevins (HL23-03) — a 2006 design by David Webster George (a Frank Lloyd Wright fellow) that the Commission landmarked in 2023 as an unusually modern designation. He also has history at the dais from the public side: his 2016 warning against unpermitted brick-painting ("slippery slope… no teeth left") preceded the Commission ordering paint stripped at 911 E Worth.

Read: the Foundation's preservation-first worldview now votes on the Commission (Grapevine Heritage Foundation — the two bodies were always one ecosystem; now explicitly so). Expect rigor on demolitions and authenticity, sympathy for high-quality design — including good modern design with landmark discipline.
