Work: At the 1908 George Hurst House: construct a third structure (240 sq ft detached stone building) and a fourth structure (432 sq ft pavilion) in the rear yard, plus a 6-ft wrought iron rear fence (280 ft) and a 3-ft wood two-rail front fence (277 ft). Total of all structures would be 4,387 sq ft, over the 4,100 sq ft ordinance maximum. Type: garage_outbuilding, fence Staff rec: Deny the stone building and pavilion; approve the two fences with conditions Discussion: Cooper argued lot size, coverage and the "definition of 'pavilion'", comparing his plan to 603 East Worth's four structures; Klempin warned against a second variance "to build to the maximum." Cooper offered to change the pavilion to a pergola, which Klempin said is not objectionable "because it does not have a solid roof," and the Commission wanted to see pergola plans. Outcome: continued (4-0) — moved Ashley Anderson, second Chuck Voelker
