HL12-01 — 527 South Dooley Street

Work: Historic Landmark Subdistrict overlay for the William Floyd and Helen Deacon House, a c. pre-WWII Colonial Revival; landmarking required as condition of a garage-reconstruction grant Type: designation Staff rec: Approve the Historic Landmark Subdistrict overlay Discussion: Klempin recounted the Deacon family's role in B & D Mills and called the house 'an excellent local example of a Colonial Revival style house'; the wooden garage had already been reconstructed under the grant and landmarking was needed because the owners are selling. No opposition appeared. Outcome: approved (unanimous) — moved Margaret Telford, second Ashley Anderson

HL12-02 — 521 Estill Street

Work: Historic Landmark Subdistrict overlay for the C. L. and Vera Fay Chambers House (c. 1959), believed the smallest house in the Township at ~680 sq ft Type: designation Staff rec: Approve the Historic Landmark Subdistrict overlay Discussion: Klempin described the post-WWII side-gable house as representative of housing built both to house and to produce rental income; the owners said they 'liked qualifying as the smallest house in the Township.' Outcome: approved (unanimous) — moved Sean Shope, second Margaret Telford
