Work: Historic Landmark overlay for 1930 Craftsman bungalow (Original Town Residential Historic District; renovated 2011 by David Smith) Type: designation Staff rec: approve Discussion: Weimer said she "preferred to live in an area of preservation" but needed added square footage and storage; plans include a two-story garage, cabana, and enlarged master suite. Outcome: approved (7-0) — moved Margaret Telford, second Ashley Anderson

CA13-106 — 710 East Wall Street

Work: Construct new master bath/closet addition on the 880 sq ft bungalow; demolish non-contributing rear storage building; construct new two-car detached garage and pool house in rear yard (plans by Scott Buchanan, Innovative Home Designs) Type: addition, demolition, garage_outbuilding Staff rec: approve with conditions Discussion: Klempin complimented the plans as "excellent on the setback of the upper half story... staying true to the bungalow style"; Telford worried the backyard plans "would leave very little green space," and Weimer said decking would surround an existing 40-year-old tree. Work: Construct new 15'5" x 23'3" rear addition (third bedroom and bath) to 1950 ranch house bought in foreclosure; non-landmarked but reviewed under updated Township ordinance Type: addition Staff rec: approve with conditions (building permit) Discussion: Cooper said the addition mattered because the house "now only has two small bedrooms with one of those measuring only eight by ten foot"; plans followed the new ordinance. Outcome: approved with conditions (7-0) — moved Sean Shope, second Ted Ware Conditions: Permit obtained from Building Department

CA13-107 — 841 East Texas Street

Work: Renovate fire-damaged 1965 ranch house (D. E. Box Addition Historic District): enclose attached two-car garage as bedrooms, new windows and window openings, remove non-original gable porch roof to restore Dutch gable lines, construct new detached two-car garage with matching Dutch gable and No. 105 wood siding Type: addition, windows, garage_outbuilding, roof Staff rec: approve with conditions (building permit) Discussion: Cooper said he would "clean up the architecture while preserving the original look," bringing the house to about 2,200 sq ft despite major foundation problems; Ware was surprised there had not been more work on this "nice big street." Outcome: approved with conditions (7-0) — moved Vick Cox, second Margaret Telford Conditions: Building permit obtained
