Work: Construct a new two-car detached garage (4" exposure painted Hardie board siding, wood-faced garage doors, asphalt shingle roof and trim to match the 1987 ranch-style house; plans by builder Russell Anderson) in the College Street Residential Historic District, within the 500 sq ft detached-garage allowance of the June 2013 ordinance. Type: garage_outbuilding Staff rec: Approval with conditions: garage to follow the College Street Residential Historic District Design Guidelines; exterior lighting fixtures and hardware staff approved; building permit obtained. Discussion: Staff noted the existing house was built in 1987, before the 1992 preservation ordinance and the district's establishment, and that total square footage stays under the 3,400 sq ft maximum; no commissioner debate was recorded. Work: Discussion item on Wells Fargo's proposal to remove all white marble exterior cladding of the c. 1963-1970 First National Bank of Grapevine and replace it with stucco; motion to take up the case and consider recommending City Council place a Historic Designation on the property. Type: designation Staff rec: Update only; staff opposed loss of the marble facade. Discussion: Klempin reported Wells Fargo 'has proposed to remove all white marble and to replace with stucco on all elevations of all facilities.' Telford moved to add the bank to the agenda 'to further discuss and to consider a recommendation to the Grapevine City Council to place a Historic Designation on this property.' Outcome: other (7-0) — moved Margaret Telford, second Vick Cox
