Work: Request to remove the Historic Landmark overlay (HL13-01) from the 1947 Rawls House, a Cameron Lumber Company home Type: designation Staff rec: Deny the removal request, citing the property's significance and five designations of merit Discussion: Dehoney said potential buyers 'would not purchase the home because of the impediment of the historic overlay.' Klempin said there was no precedent for removal; Telford warned removal 'would be setting a dangerous precedent,' and City Attorney Boyle noted 'you will not find the word removal in the ordinance.' Outcome: denied (7-0) — moved Ted Ware, second Margaret Telford
