Work: Renovate the 1888 Queen Anne house (Sanguinet & Staats influence), build new second-floor attic rooms with a new dormer, a new 1 1/2-story rear addition, a new two-car detached garage, and relocate the storage shed to the rear corner; contributing structure in the College Street Residential Historic District. Type: addition, garage_outbuilding, relocation Staff rec: Approve with conditions (building permit; exterior materials, windows, doors/hardware, light fixtures and paint colors under separate CAs) Discussion: Derr asked for "the required black and white photographs" documenting existing conditions; Klempin committed to provide them for every future case. Telford confirmed garage entry from Church Street about 40 feet back; Cooper said placing the garage nearer the house "would isolate the backyard." Type: other Staff rec: Approve the checklist, completed by applicant(s) with staff, for all CA applications scheduled for public hearing Discussion: Gilliland said complete information "would be a huge aid to the commission"; City Attorney Boyle summed up the amendments: a box 7 requiring black-and-white photographs of elevations to be altered or demolished, adding "is recommended" wording, and a checkbox denoting "staff approved" or commission approved.
