Work: Renovate exterior of existing 1970 metal building and construct 1,068 sq ft rear addition with interior storage mezzanine for a Main Street Bakery commissary: new wood-faced entrance porch, double-door entry, vertical wood siding on canopy and addition, all-new fixed aluminum windows; pickup only, no inside seating. Type: addition, siding, windows Staff rec: Approve with conditions Discussion: Shope asked 'why the design was so modern?'; Klempin answered they were going for 'a 1970s modern industrial look' consistent with the building's era and said it fit the Design Guidelines. Cox confirmed the space was strictly back-of-house; Voelker liked the plans as presented. The Gourys were expected by phone but did not call in. Outcome: approved with conditions (7-0) — moved Margaret Telford, second Vick Cox Conditions: Permit obtained from the Building Department; All exterior materials, finishes, paint colors, doors and hardware, windows and exterior light fixtures approved on separate CA(s)

Work: Front-yard/driveway pergola case continued from October 28; revised plans not ready because the architect 'was now ill with COVID-19 and had requested to delay this case until the December meeting.' Type: hardscape, other Staff rec: Grant extension to the December meeting Discussion: The tabled case was extended without debate at the applicant's request due to the architect's COVID-19 illness; unusually, City Attorney Matthew Boyle made the motion for the extension. Outcome: tabled (7-0) — moved Matthew Boyle (City Attorney), second Chuck Voelker Conditions: Continued to the December 16, 2020 meeting
