Work: Remove City Hall's 91 twenty-five-year-old Marvin double-hung double-pane metal-clad wood windows and replace them with new Marvin single-hung double-pane metal-clad wood units matching the original design, profile and color Type: windows Staff rec: Approve; in-kind replacement with single-hung configuration 'would prevent the same conditions from reoccurring' (sliding sashes, gaps, moisture and warping) Discussion: Beck said the project 'has been looked at for several years and vetted through the facilities committee' and 'we intend to put them back just exactly the way they are.' Argon-filled double panes would raise energy efficiency; no questions were raised. Outcome: approved with conditions (7-0) — moved Margaret Telford, second Paula Wilbanks Conditions: Permit obtained from the Building Department
